  • ArkansasConditional

Arkansas limits consumer use to the days around the holidays — for example, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on July 1 to 3 and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on July 4, plus a New Year window. Sales run June 13 to July 10 (expanded in 2025 by Act 108) and December 10 to January 5. Cities and counties may further restrict.

  • Illinois has no statewide season: novelties and sparklers are legal year-round where they are not banned locally, while true consumer fireworks need a local permit — apply about 15 days ahead — and are allowed only on approved dates and at approved locations. Municipalities may bar fireworks entirely — Chicago, for example.

  • In Oklahoma, the dates and times when fireworks may be used are set by local ordinance, which may further restrict or ban discharge. Licensed retailers may sell consumer fireworks year-round; the former seasonal sale windows (June 15 to July 6 and December 15 to January 2) were repealed by Senate Bill 1948 (the Rocket's Red Glare Act), effective May 20, 2026.

The normal windows — June 20–July 5 and December 10–January 2 — return in 2027. Year-round permitted retailers also exist. Local governments may still restrict or ban use entirely; Nashville and Knoxville both prohibit it citywide.
