In Oklahoma, the dates and times when fireworks may be used are set by local ordinance, which may further restrict or ban discharge. Licensed retailers may sell consumer fireworks year-round; the former seasonal sale windows (June 15 to July 6 and December 15 to January 2) were repealed by Senate Bill 1948 (the Rocket's Red Glare Act), effective May 20, 2026.

In Kansas, use is centered on the July 4 period, and cities and counties set their own dates and hours and may ban discharge entirely. State seasonal sales run June 20 to July 7 — expanded to about 18 days by Senate Bill 199 of 2025, which also allows year-round sales from permanent retailers.
