In Idaho only nonaerial common fireworks — ground spinners, fountains, sparklers, smoke devices and snakes — may be sold and used by the public. Firecrackers, bottle rockets and other aerials require a public-display permit. (Stands sell aerials via buyer affidavit for purported out-of-state use.)

  • MontanaPermitted

Montana allows the full consumer line: aerials, firecrackers, Roman candles, and ground, handheld and novelty devices that meet the federal consumer-fireworks definition and CPSC rules.

  • NevadaConditional

Nevada sets no statewide consumer-fireworks standard, so which types are legal varies by county. Urban counties are strict (Clark allows only "safe and sane"; Washoe bans all consumer fireworks), while several rural counties allow the full aerial line. Always check the specific county or city rule.
