Info
Hawaii statewide rule

No sales tax — Hawaii levies a General Excise Tax (GET) on businesses instead: 4% on most activities (0.5% wholesaling/manufacturing), plus a 0.5% county surcharge in all four counties (Honolulu, Kauai, Hawaii and Maui, each through 2030). Businesses may visibly pass it on (max pass-on rate 4.712%); the GET base is broad and includes many services.
