Conditional
In Hawaii, whether you need a fishing license depends on where you fish. FRESHWATER: a Freshwater Game Fishing License is required for any person taking introduced freshwater sport fish (minors 9-15 $3; resident 16+ $5; nonresident $25; 7-day tourist $10; HAR 13-74-10). OCEAN: nonresidents age 15 or older (except active-duty military and their minor children) need a Nonresident Recreational Marine Fishing License — $20 1-day, $40 7-day, $70 annual (HAR 13-74-11); no recreational marine license is required of Hawaii residents. Issued by HI Dept. of Land & Natural Resources, Div. of Aquatic Resources (DLNR-DAR).
