North Carolina Suppressors & Silencers Laws (2026)
Conditional: Suppressors are legal in North Carolina as long as you comply with federal law.
Suppressors are legal in North Carolina as long as you comply with federal law. N.C.G.S. 14-288.8 classifies a silencer as a "weapon of mass death and destruction" but exempts persons who own it in compliance with the National Firearms Act (NFA), so a registered suppressor with an ATF tax stamp is legal.
