- GeorgiaConditional
Recreational cannabis is illegal in Georgia, which has a medical cannabis program only (formerly known as "low-THC oil"). SB 220 (signed May 12, 2026, with most provisions effective July 1, 2026) removed the 5% THC cap, set a 12,000 mg personal possession limit with a maximum of 1,200 mg per package, added inhalation and vaporization for patients 21 and older (smoking is still prohibited), and expanded the qualifying conditions to add lupus.

- TennesseeRestricted

- VirginiaConditional
In Virginia, adults 21 and older may legally possess and home-grow cannabis (legalized 2021), but there is no licensed adult-use retail market yet. The 2026 retail-market bills (HB 642 and SB 542) were vetoed by Governor Spanberger on May 19, 2026, so no adult-use retail launch date is set — a legal retail market now awaits future legislation (the 2027 session at the earliest).
