New Hampshire Speed & Red-Light Cameras Laws (2026)
Restricted: New Hampshire has no red-light or speed cameras.
New Hampshire has no red-light or speed cameras. RSA 236:130 bars the state and its political subdivisions from "surveillance" on public ways — using a camera or other device to determine a vehicle's ownership or its occupants' identity. Exceptions include: surveillance authorized by another statute; case-by-case investigation of a specific violation, misdemeanor or felony; unrecorded Department of Transportation (DOT) incident viewing; state buildings; toll collection; named bridges; listed park-and-rides; DOT dash cams; and covered wooden bridges. Breaking the rule is a violation, or a misdemeanor for non-natural persons.
